"It was a revelation to learn that births could be different than the two experiences I had. Helping mothers become more educated and having the best birth experience possible has since become my calling." |
About Jennifer
My name is Jennifer Vermeer. I am 27 years old. I live in Sterling, Nebraska, which is about 30 miles southeast of Lincoln. I work in Lincoln five days a week as an independent insurance agent. I've been married since 2007 to my husband, Phil. We have five children altogether in our house.
I currently attend Southeast Community College full-time, online. I will graduate in March/April 1010 with an associate's degree in Business Information Technology. The degree is a complement to the office work I currently do, and it will also help in the doula and childbirth education business.
I completed my DONA (Doulas of North America) training in February 2009. I am a member of both the DONA International and CAPPA organizations, which are two of several respected national organizations who sole purpose is to train women in the art of supporting other women in all phases of their pregnancy. I am starting the certification process to become one of Lamaze International's respected childbirth educators. Eventually I would like to become a certified lactation counselor as well.
I became passionate about births, babies and breastfeeding after the birth of my daughter. While attending a breastfeeding mothers' support group at MilkWorks, I learned about doulas and birth experiences. It was a revelation to learn that births could be different than the two experiences I had. Helping mothers become more educated and having the best birth experience possible has since become my calling.
Client Testimonials for Jennifer Brown Vermeer
"Jennifer was available for me every step of the way, always answering calls and questions with the utmost in patience and respect. During our birth experience, Jennifer was calm and collected. She was an invaluable asset to my husband, relieving him if needed and a constant source of support. Most of all, I never felt judged for deviating from our original birth plan. I would most definitely recommend Jennifer as a doula for your prenatal, birth & postpartum experience."--R. | |
