Training & Credentials
What are your current credentials & individual experiences with postpartum care?

I work as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for a local agency. I am also a licensed foster parent (and mother), and have personally cared for 3 babies and 2 newborns.

Do you have any current plans for additional training?
I plan to re-certify in CPR and to take a 1st Aid class in the very near future. I would also like to become a Certified Lactation Consultant within 2 years.
What is your basic theory of breastfeeding?
I know that breastfeeding is the way God intended our babies to be fed. Breast milk is full of nutrition and immunity, and mom and baby are both benefited physically and emotionally as a result of breastfeeding. I know firsthand how wonderful (and stressful) establishing  can be, and I provide gentle assistance as often as the mother feels is necessary.
Fees & Payment Plans
What is your typical fee schedule for postpartum assistance?
For a limited time, I am offering my services at $10/hour (2 hours minimum per day). The typical rate for postpartum doula services run $20-$30/hour, and my rate will go up soon.
Do you require a down payment?
A $20 downpayment is required. The fee is then applied to my hourly rate.
Are you willing to be on a call list for "free" services when low income families contact our website?
Yes.
Do you charge additional mileage when you have to travel outside of your hometown?

This is decided on a case-by-case basis.
Do you send a detailed bill to your couples & when is their payment due?
Payment is due at the time of service unless agreed upon in advance.
Will you provide a sliding fee for lower income couples?
Yes
Are you open to trading or bartering for services?
Yes
Miscellaneous Information
Do you guarantee backup services in case you are unable to assist them due to illness or sudden conflicts?

Backup may be available, but not guaranteed. However, your downpayment would be refunded if I was unable to provide services or a backup.

If it felt "right" to you & your client, would you ever consider working as a team with a beginning doula to help her gain experience?
Yes, I would consider it.
Is it ok for other doulas to contact you to help their couples find reliable postpartum care?
Yes
How do you feel about being called to assist a mom even if you have never met them?
I am currently a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor and have experience with this.
How do you describe yourself religiously/spiritually?
I am a non-denominational, Bible-believing Christian.
How does your religion affect how you work with clients?
I am very professional. When working with a believer, I am proud to offer spiritual support!
Do you provide a doula contract for detailed expectations of your care to be signed by all parties?
Not at this time.
Have you ever worked with same sex couples?
No
